Requirement details

Live photo (official portal only)

  • Format: JPG, JPEG
  • Background: Plain background, good light
  • Full frontal view; face fully inside the camera area; camera at eye level
  • No cap, mask or glasses/spectacles while capturing the live photo
  • Do not upload a saved photograph for this live-photo step. Capture it on ssc.gov.in or the SSC mobile app when prompted.
  • Live photo on official portal only.

Scanned signature

  • Format: JPEG, JPG
  • File size: 10 KB to 20 KB
  • Paper size: 6 cm × 2 cm
  • Paper: White paper
  • Horizontal signature about 6.0 cm wide and 2.0 cm high. Blurred or miniature signatures are summarily rejected unless the candidate used Aadhaar-based authentication.

Para 9.6 of the CGL 2026 notice specifies signature about 6.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height). One application annexure in the same notice also mentions about 4.0 cm x 2.0 cm. This product uses Para 9.6. Confirm the on-screen instruction while applying. Capturing a photo of a pre-existing photograph is rejected.
